Our Coaches
Jack McDevitt
Jack has owned The Cages training facility since 2009 and has partnered with numerous top club softball organizations over the years.
With extensive experience starting and growing multiple club baseball programs, and as his daughters reached club softball age it was a natural progression to launch the MN Herd Fastpitch program.
He is passionate about growing the game and helping young athletes develop the skills needed to reach the next level.
Matt Haefner

Matt played 12 years of men’s fastpitch softball, winning the 1995 National Championship as a 1st Team All-American and National Tournament MVP.

As head coach at Prior Lake High School, he posted a 127–45 record and was named Section 2 Coach of the Year in 2013.

Matt has been involved with club softball in Minnesota for 15+ years, has been a head coach at the collegiate level, is currently the an Assistant Coach at Eastview High School.
Roger Schliewe
Instructor/Coach
Roger founded the Wisconsin Bandits, one of the elite club programs in the Midwest. In 33 years, he has coached over 150 athletes to D1 or D2 college programs and won multiple National Championships in USSSA, USA, PGF, and ASA.

A high school coaching legend, Roger began at Horicon High School in 1989 and ranks 2nd in Wisconsin history with 617 wins. His teams won 20 conference titles, 4 state championships, and made 10 state tournament appearances while producing many Big Ten and other major conference players.
